What is your pricing?
I follow the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) pricing guidelines. Prices are as follows depending on what type of written work you need to be proofread: $0.012 per word (for short annotations), $3.00 per page (for multiple-page annotations), or $30.00 per hour (for novel annotations).
What does a proofreader do?
A proofreader ensures content is free of typographical, grammatical, spelling, punctuation, syntax, formatting, and other errors. It is the very last stage of the writing process, when we fix minor spelling and punctuation mistakes, typos, formatting issues and inconsistencies.
What software & style guide do you use?
I mainly use Microsoft Word, but I am also trained and certified to use iAnnotate (PDF) and Google Docs. For my proofreading guide, I use the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS).
